TCF Canada guide · updated
The real cost of the TCF Canada in Cameroon: 226,000 FCFA
226,000 FCFA: that is what one sitting of the TCF Canada costs in Cameroon. Miss your target and you pay again, then wait for a new date. Here is the breakdown, and how to pay only once.
The fee breakdown
| Item | Amount |
|---|---|
| TCF Canada test fee | 210,000 FCFA |
| TLS fee | 16,000 FCFA |
| Total per sitting | 226,000 FCFA |
This is the fee announced in October 2026. It can change: always check the amount and the procedure with the approved test centre before paying, and read the refund and rescheduling conditions, which are often strict.
Failing costs you twice
First, the money
For immigration, you sit all four tests at each session, and IRCC does not combine results from different sessions. If a single skill stays below the level you need (NCLC 7 for the French bonus), you pay 226,000 FCFA again: 452,000 FCFA in total.
Then, the time
Slots to pay for registration are very hard to get, and a new test date often takes a long time. Meanwhile your plan stalls: without valid results there is no Express Entry profile, so no invitation.
How to pay only once
- Measure your level before you register. Take a timed mock exam in the real format: 39 listening questions in 35 minutes, 39 reading questions in 60 minutes, then the writing and speaking tasks.
- Aim for NCLC 7 in all four skills, not on average. Find your weakest skill and work on it first (see the full score table).
- Keep a margin. Aim a few points above the thresholds (458, 453, 10/20, 10/20): on test day, stress often costs points.
- Choose your date carefully. Results are valid for two years for IRCC: register when your mock exam says you are ready and your Express Entry file is moving (see the two-year rule).
How much does preparation cost?
On Prépa-TCF Canada, the Standard plan costs 10,000 FCFA (about $19) for 6 months: 7 modules explained in English, assessments, a personalised study plan and a mock exam in the real format. That is 22 times less than a second attempt. Module 1 is free, with no sign-up.
Before you book the TCF Canada
Measure your level in the real format.
Module 1 is free, with no sign-up: exam format, NCLC scale and strategies, explained in English. The mock exam covers all four tests in the official timing and converts your results to NCLC.
Frequently asked questions
How much is the TCF Canada in Cameroon?
226,000 FCFA per sitting: a 210,000 FCFA test fee plus a 16,000 FCFA TLS fee, according to the fee announced in October 2026. Check the current amount with the approved test centre.
Can I retake just one part of the TCF Canada?
No. For immigration, you sit all four tests at each session, and IRCC does not combine results from different sessions. You retake everything, and pay again.
How long does it take to get a new test date?
There is a minimum waiting period between two sittings, and seats are limited: getting a new slot often takes a long time. Check with the approved test centre.
How do I know I am ready to pay for the exam?
Take a timed mock exam in the real format. If you reach NCLC 7 in all four skills, with a margin, you are ready to register.
