Free TCF Canada practice test
Twenty questions in the TCF Canada format to gauge your French listening and reading. Questions go from level A1 to C2, as in the real test, and are in French like the exam itself. At the end you see the corrected answers and an estimated NCLC level.
Frequently asked questions
Does this free test replace the TCF Canada?
No. It is a 20-question indicative practice test. The official TCF Canada is taken at a centre approved by France Éducation international and has four parts: listening, reading, writing and speaking.
Is the test really free?
Yes, with no sign-up and no payment. Your answers are not stored. If you ask for your result by email, we only keep your address, your score and, if you give them, your first name and WhatsApp number.
What does this test measure?
Your French listening and reading, with questions of increasing difficulty (A1 to C2). Writing and speaking are assessed in the course’s mock exam.
How should I prepare for the TCF Canada after this test?
Work first on the skill where you scored lowest, then practise writing and speaking, which this test does not measure. Before booking, take a full timed TCF Canada simulation to check that you reach NCLC 7 in every skill.
What level do I need for Express Entry?
Usually NCLC 7 in all four skills: at least 458 in listening, 453 in reading, 10/20 in writing and 10/20 in speaking (IRCC table).
