Privacy policy

What Prépa-TCF Canada collects, why, who it is shared with and how to exercise your rights. We only collect what we need to give you access to the course.

Who is responsible for your data

Prépa-TCF Canada (prepatcfcanada.com) is published by Blue Ocean Holding, 6057 rue des Premières-Nations, Québec, QC G1B 0T2, Canada. For any question about your personal information, email us at info@prepatcfcanada.com.

What we collect

  • When you ask for your free test result by email: your email address, your score, your browser’s language and estimated country, and, if you give them, your first name and WhatsApp number. Your answers to the questions are not stored.
  • When you order a plan: your name, email address, phone number, country, the plan you chose and your payment reference (Mobile Money, PayPal or money transfer transaction ID).
  • When you take the course: your progress (lessons, assessments, mock exams), your answers, your written work, the transcripts of your spoken answers and your study plan settings.
  • If you leave a review: your rating and your comment.
  • If you refer someone: the orders placed with your code and the related commissions.

We never store bank or card details: you pay through your Mobile Money operator, PayPal or your money transfer service.

Why we use it

  • To create your access, send you your code and check your payments.
  • To save your progress and mark your exercises and mock exams.
  • To answer your questions and calculate referral commissions.
  • To improve the site with anonymous visit statistics.
  • To send you the free test result you asked for and, only if you ticked the box for it, our preparation tips and offers (three emails over one week).
  • To remind you by email of an order you started but have not paid yet (three reminders at most); if you gave us your number, a team member may message you on WhatsApp to help.

We do not sell your data and we do not use it for advertising.

Our follow-up emails

Every follow-up email contains a link to unsubscribe in one click; once you unsubscribe, you receive no more follow-up emails, only the emails about your account if you buy the course. To answer interested people better, we count clicks on the links in these emails; we do not use a pixel to find out whether you opened them.

Visit statistics, without cookies

We count page views anonymously: the page visited, the site you came from, the type of device, the language and the country estimated from your browser’s time zone. A visitor is only recognised for the day, using a fingerprint computed with a value that changes every day. Neither your IP address nor your browser details are stored. These statistics are kept for 400 days.

Cookies and browser storage

The site uses a single cookie, needed to keep you signed in to your account. There are no advertising cookies and no tracking tools from other companies. Your browser also keeps a few preferences on your device: language, country, pending orders and the referral code you used.

Who we share it with

  • Namecheap, Inc., which hosts the site and our email.
  • Anthropic, for the detailed writing and speaking feedback of the Pro plan: the task instructions and the text of your answer are sent to it to get the feedback. Your name and contact details are not sent.
  • Your browser’s speech recognition: during the speaking test, live transcription is done by your browser; some browsers, such as Chrome, use a service from their publisher for this. The recording of your voice stays on your device.
  • Google Fonts: the site’s fonts are loaded from Google’s servers, which therefore receive your IP address.
  • Authorities, only when the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Your account information and progress are kept as long as your account exists; you can ask us to delete them at any time. Orders are kept as long as our accounting requires. Contacts left on the free test are deleted after three years without activity, or sooner on request. Visit statistics are deleted after 400 days.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct or delete your information, or withdraw your consent, by emailing info@prepatcfcanada.com. We reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec.

Our social media publishing tool

We use an internal tool, the Diffuseur Prépa-TCF, to publish our own videos on the Prépa-TCF Canada accounts (YouTube, Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn). It only connects to these accounts, with their owner’s permission, to upload our videos, their titles, descriptions and a first comment. It also reads the comments posted under our own publications (the name shown by the platform and the text of the comment) so that we can reply, and it shows our team the list of interested people described above (free test contacts and unpaid orders). This information stays on the team’s computer and is not passed on to anyone.

The use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. The Diffuseur uses YouTube API Services: see the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy. You can remove an app’s access to your Google account at myaccount.google.com/permissions.

We update this page when the way we handle your information changes. The date of the last update is shown at the top of the page.
